It was a friendly challenge between two teams but the win went to patients at the Heartland Cancer Center.

Tennis players from the Great Bend Middle School challenged the GBMS soccer team to see which team could donate the most items to the Heartland Cancer Center.

The winning team was the girls’ soccer team. As their reward they were allowed to choose a coach to receive a pie in the face. They chose Conrad Montoya, seventh-grade boys’ coach.

The cancer patients are the recipients of 436 bottles of water, 70 bottles of Gatorade, 98 bottles of juice and 217 snack items.
