Great Bend Middle School soccer loses 4-0
GB soccer
Great Bend Middle School goalie Hiparco Hernandez saves a shot from a Dodge City player.

After a lenghth layoff because of rain, the Great Bend Middle School boys soccer team lost its home opener 4-0 to Dodge City Comanche Middle School April 6 at Cavanaugh Field. The first game of season was rained out, so this was the player’s first opportunity to take the field.
Head Coach Jesus Lorera saw lots of good things from his team.
Goalie Hipacrco “Paco” Hernandez fended off multiple shots and the Panthers played extremely well, taking shots themselves which went just wide of the goal.
“The score of 0-4 for the Coyotes did not reflect the intensity of the match and the determination the Panthers played with,” said coach Lorera.
The Great Bend B team coached by Noel Rodriguez started rallying together as a team as well, showing great teamwork and hustle, according to the coach.
The ball was just off the mark with several of their shots.
The Great Bend Middle School teams will play April 24 at Garden City Ken Henderson Thursday.
