HHS wrestling takes sixth over weekend

PHILLIPSBURG — The Hoisington High School wrestling team took sixth place at the Phillipsburg Panther Classic Tournament on Saturday.
Norton took first place with 198 points, and host Phillipsburg finished in second place, scoring 139 points.
The Cardinals collected 84 points.
“The team has been battling the flu the past two weeks, but still managed to finish in sixth place out of 16 schools that participated,” Hoisington head coach Dan Schmidt said. “All schools who finished in front of (us) are ranked in the top 10 of their respective classes.”
Dalton Bell finished highest for the Redbirds, taking second place in the 145-pound weight class.
Cody Batt (189) and Ethan Soeken (215) each took third place in their respective weight classes.
