HOISINGTON – Tailback Sean Urban busted loose for four touchdowns and 168 yards to spark the Cardinals past Hillsboro 53-28 in Friday’s Central Kansas League football game. The Cardinals (2-1, 2-0 CKL) have won 21 consecutive home games dating back to a loss to Scott City in 2013.
The Cardinals led 33-7 at halftime and coasted home behind 474 yards rushing behind a dominating Flexbone offense. Wyatt Pedigo scored two touchdowns and rushed for 149 yards. Jake Curtis and Rudy Gearhart rushed for touchdowns. Eric Barrett intercepted a pass. Jared Curtis had eight tackles.
“Our offensive line is getting better and we’ve got a nice mix of backs running the football,” said Hoisington coach Zac Baird. “We’re improving as a football team.”
Hillsboro quarterback Kaden Kleiner scored two touchdowns and passed twice to Jacob Funk for 6- and 40-yard scores.
