LARNED — The Mid-Central Activities Association girls’ golf meet — the Larned Invitational — was held Thursday at the Larned Country Club.
Competing in the invite was Hoisington High School, Thomas More Prep-Marian, Concordia, Russell, Sublette and host Larned.
Hoisington took first place as a team, while placing three girls in the top 10. Concordia finished second and host Larned finished in third.
Tori Ptacek, of Russell, took first place, shooting 94.

HAYS — Sylvan Grove’s Legion baseball team rallied for a 5-4 victory over Ellinwood on Colin Obermueller’s game-winning single in Wednesday’s AA Russell Zone baseball tournament. The game was moved to Hays from Russell because of a unplayable field.Ellinwood (9-10) plays Thursday against the Marysville-Smith Center loser.Ellinwood led 4-1 after 41/2 innings. Sylvan Grove led 1-0 when Dylan Fry scored a first-inning run.Ellinwood’s Levi Swenson scored a second-inning run on a double steal with Evan Johanning.
