LARNED — It was the first meeting of the Stafford County rivals this season, and St. John-Hudson High School’s boys’ basketball team didn’t let the rivalry shake them up.
The Tigers remained their steady selves, jumping ahead of Macksville 21-7 in the first eight minutes and cruising to a 67-34 rout.
Kade Kinnamon blew up for 25 points to lead St. John, which is ranked No. 1 in Class 2A on the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll. He had five 3-pointers.
Dean Wade added 14 points.
Simon Miller’s 14 points led Macksville.
Tanner Tranbarger added 11 points.

LARNED — Larned took a 10-point lead in the first quarter and road that to a victory to advance to the championship game of the Seventh Annual Gene Keady Basketball Classic on Friday night.
The Indians were led by Brayden Smith and Tyler Stelter, both finishing with 12 points.
Easton Palmer added 11 points, including a trio of treys.

LARNED — Ellinwood only held a meager 24-20 lead at halftime.
That changed in a hurry as the Lady Eagles outscored Hoisington 14-6 in the third quarter and rolled to a rout in the semifinal game of the Seventh Annual Gene Keady Basketball Classic on Friday night.
Sophie Hayes put in 20 points to lead Ellinwood.
Kelsea Ward added 18 points for the Lady Eagles.
Hoisington’s top scorer was Jordin Greer with 13 points.
Rylie Koester finished with 12 points for the Lady Cards.
