Lady Oilers breeze past Lady Mustangs

CLAFLIN — Central Plains High School’s girls’ basketball team led 21-8 after one quarter on its way to a 69-27 win over Macksville on Friday night.
Katie Hipp led the Lady Oilers (6-1) with 19 points. Jennifer Hitschmann finished with 15, and Janae Hekele scored 14.
Mindy Wood led Macksville (1-6) with 11 points. She went 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Central Plains travels to Hill City on Monday, and Macksville hits the road on Tuesday, facing La Crosse.

ELLINWOOD — A 20-2 run that lasted the entire first quarter led Ellinwood to victory over Little River.
Rachel Doll lit up the scoreboard with 25 points, shooting 5 of 8 from 3-point range. She went 9-for-12 (75 percent) from the field.
Kelsea Ward added 18 points for Ellinwood (5-2). Sophia Hayes put in 12.
Ellinwood hosts St. John on Tuesday.

Victoria 42, Otis-Bison 29
VICTORIA — Kristin Huser scored 20 points to lead Victoria past Otis-Bison.
Hannah Bannister scored 11 points to lead the Lady Cougars (2-6).
Kim Pechanec added 10 points.
The Lady Cougars host Kinsley on Tuesday.

Southwestern Heights 46, Larned 36
KISMET — Southwestern Heights added to its lead little-by-little in each quarter.
The Lady Mustangs were led by Jackie Loya and Ivon Amparan, who each scored 11 points.
Larned, which is 2-5 on the season, travels to Cimarron on Tuesday.

Little River 50, Ellinwood 31
ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood could not make up an early deficit, as Little River added to its lead in each quarter.
Patrick Ringering led the Eagles with 13 points. Kyle Blakeslee added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Ellinwood (3-4) was  0 of 8 3-pointers.

Victoria 41, Otis-Bison 33
VICTORIA — Otis-Bison led 10-7 after one quarter, but Victoria scored 16 points in the second period to lead 23-18 heading into intermission.
The Knights had 19 steals in the game. They were led by Dalton Dreiling and Phillip Nowak, who scored seven points apiece.
Otis-Bison drops to 3-5 on the season.

CLAFLIN — Macksville slowly pulled away from Central Plains in each quarter to win.
Macksville post player Adolfo Ibarra scored a game-high 27 points.
Tanner Tranbarger added 21 points and Clayton Wood scored 10 for the Mustangs (4-3).
Layne Bieberle scored 20 points for the Oilers (4-3), and Evan Liebl added 11.
