WAKEENEY — The Central Plains High School girls’ tennis team claimed a Class 3-1A regional title on Saturday, finishing with 13 points.
The Lady Oilers finished first and second in the doubles competition, qualifying two duos for the state tournament, which will be held on Friday and Saturday at Pratt’s Walter Blake Tennis Complex.
Karli Beck and Breanna Schartz won the doubles title, topping teammates Keeley Hipp and Janae Ryan in the final match.
Beck and Schartz went 4-0 at the tourney, starting as the No. 1 seed.
Hipp and Ryan finished 3-1.
McKenna Hammeke and Kaylyn Oberle each went 1-1 in singles competition.
