CENTRAL PLAINS 61, MOUNDRIDGE 59
Reagan Phelan scored the game-winning basket to rally the Central Plains girls from a 17-point deficit for a 61-59 victory over Moundridge in the championship game of the Hilltop Hoops Classic.
Phelan tied the score at 59 with 50 seconds left and Taylor Rolfs blocked and recovered an attempt by the Wildcats. Phelan rebounded an Oiler miss for the game-winner with 1.8 seconds left.
No. 1 ranked Class 2A Central Plains improves to 12-0. No. 5 ranked Class 2A Moundridge drops to 10-2.
Red-hot Moundridge led 49-32 after scoring the first basket of the fourth quarter. The Oilers outscored the Wildcats 29-10 the rest of the way. Rolfs scored 10 fourth-quarter points and Phelan added seven points.
The Oilers outscored the Wildcats 21-5 after trailing 54-40. Rolfs led the Oilers with 21 points. Phelan finished with 20 points, nine steals and eight assists.  Cassidy Crites, Kendi Maxwell and Janae Ryan also converted baskets for the Oilers in the fourth quarter.
Moundridge’s hot-shooting Ashley Holler scored 21 points and converted six 3-point goals. Michelle Stucky and Cassidy Siemens each added nine points. The Wildcats made 22 of 36 field goals to shoot 61 percent. The Wildcats converted seven of eight 3-point goals.
Moundridge closed the first half on an 11-0 run to lead 30-19 at halftime.  The Oilers converted several of the Wildcat 22 turnovers into offensive points.

GREAT BEND 64, OLATHE NORTH 54
EMPORIA — Lauren Welsch stayed red hot with her second consecutive 25-point game as Great Bend’s girls beat Olathe North 64-54 in the seventh place game of the Glacier’s Edge Tournament Saturday.
Regan Unruh added 14 points for the Panthers. The game started slowly with a 6-6 tie after one period before the Panthers scored 22 second-quarter points for a 28-21 halftime lead.
Great Bend (6-6) travels to Salina Central Tuesday.

DERBY 52,
GREAT BEND 43
EMPORIA — Lauren Welsch’s 3-pointer forced extra time, but Derby outscored Great Bend’s girls 10-1 in overtime for a 52-43 basketball victory Friday in the Glacier’s Edge Tournament.
Welsch drilled a 3-pointer with five seconds left in regulation for a 42-42 tie. After a Derby turnover, Welsch missed the final attempt in regulation. She finished with 25 points and five 3-pointers.
Derby’s 6-foot-2 Grace Mitchell dominated the shorter Panthers with 32 points, including eight consecutive points in overtime. Mitchell scored 15 points after the fourth quarter.
Regan Unruh, who scored seven points, made the Panthers’ lone point in overtime. Great Bend (5-6) plays Olathe North at 11 a.m. Saturday for seventh place. The Panthers travel to Salina Central next Tuesday.

PALCO — Rachel Doll scored a career high 37 points and Ellinwood’s girls raced past Palco 77-33 in a non-league game. The No. 2 ranked Class 2A Ellinwood’s girls improve to 13-0.
Rachel Doll also grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out six assists. Blake Wilt scored 14 points and Delaney Beckwith chipped in 12 points.
Ellinwood (6-7) won the boys game 63-24.

MACKSVILLE  — Macksville’s Diego Delgadillo converted a trio of 3-pointers and scored 13 points in a 72-39 non-league basketball loss to Pratt.
Pratt’s Samson Kohman scored 17 points and Bartel added 12 points. Pratt led 34-16 at halftime and outscored the Mustangs 38-23 in the second half.
