HOISINGTON — The Central Plains High School girls’ tennis team captured first place at the Hoisington Invitational on Tuesday evening.
The Lady Oilers combined for 29 points, including first-place finishes in both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles from the five-team field.
Hoisington placed second with 26 points and St. John-Hudson finished fifth with nine points.
Central Plains No. 1 doubles team Karli Beck and Breanna Schartz went 3-0 on the day as St. John didn’t have an entry in the division.
Keeley Hipp and Janae Ryan, Lady Oilers’ No. 2 doubles duo, didn’t drop a set in four matches.
Deiah Curtis was the top finisher for the Lady Cardinals, claiming first place in the No. 1 singles competition.
St. John’s Tyler Dove and Audrey Mercer combined to finish second in No. 2 doubles, leading the Lady Tigers.
