Lady Panthers win Garden City invite

GARDEN CITY — The Great Bend High School girls’ swim team won the Garden City Invitational on Tuesday evening.
The Lady Panthers scored 442 points against three Western Athletic Conference opponents.
Garden City finished second at 391, Dodge City placed third at 210 and Liberal seized fourth at 180.
Great Bend boasted seven first-place finishes.
Kira Cook, Katy Jerke, Madeline Vesta and Hannah Hildebrand combined to win the 200-meter freestyle relay with a time of 1:53.12.
Cook and Hildebrand joined with Kylee Spray and Michaela Cape to win the 400 freestyle relay, clocking in at 4:09.48.
Hildebrand won the 200 individual medley (2:30.82) and the 100 freestyle (58.74).
Vesta claimed first place in the 100 butterfly (58.74).
Cook won the 200 freestyle (2:13.67).
Cape won the 100 backstroke (1:11.02).
