Lady Tigers beat Lady Indians

PRATT — The St. John High School girls’ basketball team opened the Pratt High School Tournament of Champions with a 50-21 win over Medicine Lodge.
The Lady Tigers, who are ranked No. 1 in Class 1A Division-I in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll, jumped ahead 25-8 by halftime.
Jamie Waters finished with a team-leading 11 points, including a trio 3-pointers.
Teresa Wade finished with nine points, and Haley Falk finished with seven.
Ali Rodgers led Medicine Lodge with 12 points.
St. John (10-0) faces Wichita North tonight at 8.

 TMP-Marian 43, Hoisington 40
HOISINGTON — The Hoisington girls fell behind 15-4 after the first quarter against Thomas More Prep-Marian of Hays on Thursday evening.
The Lady Cardinals had a fourth-quarter rally fall short in the Mid-Central Activities Association game.
TMP was led by Jenna Long, who finished with 14 points.
Mallory Flagor finished with a game-high 15 points for Hoisington (10-3), scoring 12 points, including two three-point plays in the fourth quarter.
Savannah Rose finished with 10 points.

Wichita South 36, Larned 22
PRATT — Wichita South finished the first half ahead 16-8, and Larned was unable to make up the ground down the stretch.
South was led by Odyssey Trussel, who finished with 10 points.
The Lady Indians (2-10) were led by Bailey Schartz, who scored six points.

BOYS
Hoisington 45, TMP-Marian 35

HOISINGTON — The Hoisington boys edged Thomas More Prep-Marian after finishing the first half knotted at 17.
The Cardinals (11-2) are ranked No. 5 in Class 3A.
Cody Stetler led the Cardinals with 18 points.
Derrick Kaiser added 12 points.
Nick Hammeke finished with nine points to lead TMP-Marian.
