HILLSBORO — Larned’s boys captured first place with 86.5 points to beat Hesston (77) at Friday’s James Thomas Track Invitational at Hillsboro.
Larned earned two first-place finishes — winning the 1,600 relay (3:40.13) with Josh East, Thomas Harmon, Davis and Martin competing; and Shevin Martin in the 400 (53.65).
Runner-up finishes were earnd by Justin Giesbrecht, 3,200 (10:49.1); Larned’s 400 relay (45.18) with East, Davis, Anthony McConnell and Martin competing; Brock Skelton, long jump (19-111/4) and triple jump (Skelton, 40-61/2).
Larned’s Katie Fischer captured the long jump (5-13/4). Berean Academy’s girls placed first (92) ahead of Sedgwicxk (84) with Larned placing 13th (21 points).
