ULYSSES — Larned’s Dorothy Keenan placed third (84) and the Indians captured the Class 4A girls golf regional (358) by 22 strokes over Hays High (380) to earn a trip to the Class 4A state golf tournament at Hesston.
Larned’s Haley Skelton placed fifth (88), Madison Gleason finished seventh (93) and Sierra Smith (94) tied for eighth at Bentwood Golf Course. Larned’s Jaicee Walker shot 112. Keenan birdied the par 3-No. 12 hole and Walker birdied the par 5-No. 11 hole.
Keenan is a three-time state qualifier and the Indians finished fourth in Class 3A last year. Keenan has finished fourt, ninth and 41st at state. Haley Skelton and Jaicee Walker also return from the fourth-place finisher.
