LARNED -- Larry Miller was a proud veteran and an active member of the Larned American Legion. He was particularly active in the American Legion Baseball program, regularly attending home games, organizing the fund raiser dinner that kicked off the summer season, and organizing volunteers to make sure games ran smoothly when Larned hosted the year-end zone tournaments. One of his favorite parts of the zone tournament was to lead the teams in the pre-game ritual of reciting the American Legion Baseball Code of Sportsmanship. Larry’s support has continued in his passing as his memorial funds were designated to the Larned American Legion baseball team. On Friday, June 9, Larry’s family was presented with a state championship ring, the very ring that the Larned team members earned after winning the title last summer between the games with Great bend.
