Larned places fourth in regional meet

LARNED — Larned High School advanced two runners to the state meet on Saturday.
Jahman Hill and Juan Ramirez finished in sixth and seventh place respectively to medal at the regional meet held at Ft. Larned.
Josh Rankin, of Ellsworth, finished in first place with a time of 16 minutes, 49 seconds.
Larned’s boys’ team finished with a score of 106, good enough for fourth place behind Sterling, 55, Norton, 69 and Holcomb, 99.
Kenny Birt, one of only two Hoisington cross country runners in the meet,  finished in 13th place. Kade Cook, also of Hoisington, finished in 41st.
The Lady Indians finished in fourth place as well with a score of 116. The Larned girls were led by Shanna Prescott, who finished in 18th place.
Leading the girls’ meet was Heather Ruder, of Thomas More Prep-Marian, who finished with a time of 15:29.
Norton took first place in the team competition with 30 points.
