HAYS — Larned’s Colton Massey overcame a nightmarish 10 at No. 13, but rallied for an 81 to earn his fourth consecutive trip to the state golf tournament at Smoky Hill Country Club. Massey birdied Nos. 2, 5 and 14. Larned’s Braeden Corman finished ninth (85) and Brandon Bartz placed 10th (87). Hunter Barker (113), Jacob Simmons (115) and Colton Schmidt (118) also qualified for 4A state May 22 at Wamego Country Club.
Goodland’s Garin Ihrig was medalist (73).
