LACROSSE — Central Plains high jumper Alex Barton shattered his personal record by clearing 6-5 at the LaCrosse Track Invitational. Barton’s 6-5 clearance is ranked fourth in the state.
Central Plains won four other events — Jacob McAtee, 300 hurdles (44.12); Lee Letourneau, javelin (153-8); the boys’ 1,600-meter relay (3:40.24) and the girls’ 3,200-meter relay (11:43.78).
St. John’s Trey Fisher won the 800 (2:09.78). St. John’s boys captured the 3,200 relay (8:59.17).
Plainville’s boys placed first (114) and Central Plains (73) finished second. The Ellis girls placed first (130) and Plainville finished second (97.66).
