Oiler tennis team wins Hoisington meet

HOISINGTON — Two Central Plains doubles teams and No. 2 singles Kade Beck captured first place to lead the Oilers to the team title (27) at the Hoisington Quadrangular tennis meet.
The Oilers’ No. 1 doubles Kade Beck-Brett Liebl (3-0) outscored teams from Hoisington, Trego and Scott City, 24-2. The Oilers’ No. 2 doubles Colton Potts-Andrew Maier (2-0) won a hard-fought 8-6 match over Trego’s Jory Micek-Dylan Johnson.
No. 2 singles Karter Beck (3-0) downed Hoisington’s Keaton Klug, 8-5 for first place. Scott City’s No. 1 singles Josiah Evans downed Oiler J.J. Heredia 8-1 for first place.
Hoisington’s No. 1 doubles Braden Mooney-Jared Curtis (1-2) won a three-way tiebreaker (14-19) for second place.
