HOISINGTON — The Russell girls defeated Otis-Bison 66-34 in the championship game of the Hoisington Winter Jam Tournament Saturday.
All-Tournament selection Taylor Regan scored 21 points for state-ranked Otis-Bison (10-1). Maddie Wiltse also earned All-Tournament honors.
Otis-Bison (10-1) made the finals with a 61-55 victory over LaCrosse. Taylor Regan scored 27 points and Lacey Mitchell and Maddie Wiltse added 11 points apiece. The Cougars outscored LaCrosse 49-35 from the field.

The Cougars led 11-10 after the first quarter, but Russell outscored Otis-Bison 19-3 in the second period and led 28-14 at halftime.
The second half was all Russell, as the Broncos led 52-28 after three quarters. After a 30-point lead was established, a running clock was started in the fourth quarter.
Russell (8-3) forced 20 Otis-Bison turnovers that fueled easy transition scores.
Tiffany Dortland scored a career-high 30 points and made five 3-pointers. Sam Ptacek followed with 12 points. Jaclyn Schulte pulled down 12 rebounds, eight offensive.
It’s the first Winter Jam Championship for the Russell girls since they won it back-to-back in 2012 and 2013. Dortland and Schulte were named to the All-Tournament Team.
