SALINA —Great Bend’s Gentry Schneider lost two matches to miss qualifying for 5A state tennis by one victory.
Regional runner-up Robyn Logan of Salina South beat Schneider, 6-0, 6-1 in the quarterfinals and Salina South’s Kennedy Herbel downed Schneider, 6-3, 6-3 in the qualifying round for fifth and sixth place. Schneider defeated Valley Center’s Megan Jones, 6-0, 7-5 in the first round.
Great Bend’s doubles teams of Jessica Nieto and Alexis Folkerts and Remi Ingram and Abbie Moyers both lost first-round matches.
