HAYS – Great Bend’s high-scoring Erick Martinez scored a career high four goals to spark the Panthers past the Hays High soccer team 6-1 Monday. The red-hot Panthers (4-2) kept the momentum after winning the Titan Classic red Bracket.
Martinez scored three second-half goals after they led 2-1 at halftime. Brian Galindo and Martinez scored first-half goals to offset an opening goal by Indian Zachary Wagner off a corner kick two minutes into the game.
The Panthers’ 4-0 second-half was fueled by a brisk southerly wind.
