Dodge City scored two free kicks in the opening half and went on to defeat Great Bend, 5-0, in Western Athletic Conference action Thursday at Cavanaugh Fields.

Dodge scored three more goals over the first 15 minutes of play in the second half with the final goal coming on a penalty kick.

“We have to cut down on our errors in the first half because those things really hurt us offensively in the second half,” coach Gus Prieto said. “We have to continue to find ways to score late in the game and that hasn’t happened for us in the last two.”

The loss drops the Panthers to 4-5 on the season and 1-3 in WAC competition.
