Panther soccer lose two more games

Panthers play Monday, Tuesday

 

LIBERAL – Liberal scored two goals in the final four minutes for a hard-fought 2-0 Western Athletic Conference soccer victory over Great Bend Friday. The Panthers were scoreless in games Thursday and Friday.

Liberal (3-7-1, 2-3-1 WAC) escaped last place with the WAC victory. Great Bend (4-7, 2-6 WAC) drops into last place in the WAC. The Panthers continue a busy schedule at Hays-TMP Monday and return home Tuesday to meet Wichita Southeast. The Panther junior varsity plays Nickerson at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Liberal’s high-scoring Gisselle Melendez scored a goal and assisted on a goal by Bryanna Banuelos. Kim Alarcon assisted on Melendez’s goal.

DODGE CITY 1, GREAT BEND 0 – Dodge City avenged a 2-1 home loss with a 1-0 shutout at Great Bend Thursday. Perla Ailon scored Dodge City’s goal. Angie Ojeda earned a shutout victory.
