Panthers place sixth at South golf invitational

SALINA — Great Bend High School placed sixth out of 17 teams on Thursday during the Salina South Invitational golf tournament at Salina Municipal.
Salina South’s Ben Hargrave carded 73 to beat Newton’s Dalton Ayers (75) by two strokes.
Hays and Derby finished atop the team standings at 315. Salina Central placed third at 319, Newton was fourth at 323 and Salina South was fifth at 340.
Great Bend’s score was 341, led by Wyatt Bayless’ 82 for 17th place.
The Panthers’ Tanner Neeland finished at 84 for 27th place and Cole Mulch finished 30th at 86.
