PANTHERS 16, WICHITA LIFE 4  -- Koy Brack sparked a team effort with three RBIs in an 18-hit attack. Bryce Lytle, Brayden Smith, Payton Mauler, Tristan Mitchell and Cory Burnham each drove in two runs.

The Panthers’ Smith and Maulen delivered two-run hits in a 7-run first inning. Burnham’s two-run single was followed by RBIs by Konner Ireland, Lytle and Brack in a 5-run second inning.

Brack’s two-run single sparked a 4-run fourth inning.

Starter Koy Brack was followed by Dalton Bieker.

GODDARD EISENHOWER 6, PANTHERS 4  -- Great Bend stranded the tying runner on base in the seventh inning as the Tigers escaped for a hard-fought 6-4 baseball victory in Friday’s Hays Diamond Classic.

The Tigers roared to a 3-0 first-inning lead on Tanner Congleton’s two-run triple and an RBI single by Cade Short. Tanner Orand scored on a double steal for a 4-0 lead after two innings.
The Panthers trailed 6-0 on Tanner Orand’s two-run home before the Panthers started to rally.
Logan Perry’s RBI single drove home Koy Brack in the fourth inning after he reached on an error. Jesus Bujanda reached on an error and scored on Konner Ireland’s fifth-inning infield single.
In the sixth inning, Payton Mauler delivered an RBI single that scored Brice Kaiser and Dalton Bieker’s groundout scored Logan Perry to slice the lead to 6-4. Ireland was retired on a line drive caught by second baseman Kyle Baker.
Bryce Lytle singled and Brayden Smith walked in the seventh inning off reliever Collin Mackey. But Kaiser and Logan Perry struck out with the tying runner on base.
