Panthers take eighth at Manhattan

MANHATTAN — In their final swim meet of the regular season, the Great Bend High School Panthers finished eighth out of 22 teams.
Great Bend, which was separated into ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams to allow more swimmers to compete, was led by Justin Kuhlman.
Kuhlman, competing with the ‘A’ team, finished in second place in the 100-meter backstroke, clocking in at 59.05 seconds.
Kuhlman also placed fifth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.57.
While the list of Class 5-1A state qualifiers has not been released by the Kansas State High School Activities Association, Great Bend swimmers who have qualified will compete at the Hummer Sports Complex in Topeka on February 14-16.
