Pawnee Heights drops pair of games at Larned Keady Classic

LARNED — The Pawnee Heights High School girls’ basketball team could not fight their way back after a scoreless first quarter that saw Kinsley go up by 16 points on Thursday at the Larned Keady Basketball Classic.
Kinsley walked away with a 41-26 victory.
Capree Worthey, who hit the game’s only 3-pointer, was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers with nine points.
Pawnee Heights went to the line 20 times in the game, but only hit five free throws.
The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Coyotes in the fourth quarter, 10-4, but were unable to overcome the deficit from the previous periods.

LARNED — The Pawnee Heights boys were roughed up in the first half and never recovered after falling behind 34-10 at halftime.
Hunter Heiland pumped in 20 points and Cody Collidge added 18 for the Lancers, the defending Larned Keady Classic champions.
Jacob Hardiman was the only player from Pawnee Heights to go to the line. He went 0-for-2.
Chad Wallace scored 11 points to lead the Tigers.
