ELLINWOOD — Lauren Thill scored 10 of her game-high 17 points in the third quarter, leading Ellinwood High School to a 47-32 win over Wichita Northfield Tuesday night in the opening round of the Ellinwood preseason tournament.
Darrien Beckwith added six points and Ashlie Munson scored five for the Eagles, who built a 27-11 lead at halftime and cruised in the second half.
On Thursday, Ellinwood’s girls meet Chase at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Chase-Ellinwood boys game at 8. Those games will be preceded by Sterling vs. Wichita Northfield’s girls at 3:30, followed by the boys game between the two teams at 5.

The Eagles were led by Kyle Corbett, who punched in a game-high 21 points. Kyle Blakeslee and Patrick Ringering each added nine.
Northfield looked to Adrion Maloney, who scored nine points.
