The Mid-Central Activities Association boasted two ranked high school volleyball teams, two state-qualifying teams and one all-state player in its final year in existence.
The MCAA, which will be disbanded after this season, had No. 9-ranked Hoisington in Class 3A and No. 5-ranked Ellinwood in 2A.
Hoisington, which finished with a 34-10, took fourth place at the 3A state tournament, and Larned went 0-3 in 4A pool play at the state tourney.
Lady Cardinals senior Abi Rhiza was a 3A all-state selection.
Rziha is joined by teammate Ashley Lockwood on the All-MCAA’s first team, two of five selections for Hoisington.
Ellinwood (35-4) and Larned (21-20) also have five selections each. Thomas More Prep Marian has three selections.
Juniors Abbi Demel and Lexi Sanders were second-team selections for the Lady Cardinals, and Jordan Moore was placed on the honorable mention team.
Ellinwood’s Sophie Hayes and Allison Panning earned first-team honors.
Delaney Beckwith was the Lady Eagles’ second-team selection, and Kelsea Ward and Jenna Collins were honorable mention.
Larned had one first-team selection, Roxi Foster.
Makenzie Harper, Maci Perez and Ally Aldrich represented the Lady Indians on the All-MCAA’s second team.
Teresa Reason was Larned’s honorable mention selection.
