Tigers open season with rout of Pratt-Skyline

PRATT — The St. John-Hudson High School boys’ basketball team started the season with a dominant performance on Friday night.
The Tigers scored more points in the first quarter than they allowed Pratt-Skyline to score in the entire game, winning 95-35.
Senior guard Zuriel Reyes led the monstrous first-quarter onslaught with 16 of his game-high 26 points in the first eight minutes.
Dean Wade added 11 of his 15 points in the first quarter.
Jacob Milton also finished with 15 points for St. John.

CLAFLIN — Central Plains took complete control of the game from the outset against Hoisington, leading 29-7 after one quarter.
Michael Ryan led five Oilers in double figures with 16 points.
Layne Bieberle, Braeden Crites and Michael Lamatsch each had 14 for Central Plains, and Konnor Hickel finished with 13.
Hoisington’s Trent Schremmer led the Cardinals with 10 points.

PRATT — St. John-Hudson kept a 10-point cushion between itself and Skyline throughout the game, according to Lady Tigers head coach Danny Smith.
That changed in the fourth quarter, when the Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Thunderbirds 19-1 to close the game.
Most of St. John’s offense came from Teresa Christie, who finished with 26 points.
Alexis Witt added eight points.

Central Plains 60,
Hoisington 30
CLAFLIN — Central Plains steadily added to its lead throughout the game for an unbalanced outcome.
Led by Reagan Phelan, who finished with a game-high 19 points, including five 3-pointers, the Lady Oilers held a 32-11 lead at halftime.
Taylor Rolfs finished with 14 points for Central Plains.
