HAYS— Thomas More Prep recorded its sixth shut out of the season as the Monarchs defeated Great Bend, 3-0 Thursday.

TMP notched their first goal early at the nine minute mark as freshman Aubrey Koenigsman converted a straight-on kick .

The Monarch’s Kayla Vitztum scored the second goal of the game in the 29th minute. The Panthers faced a stiff south wind in the second half as TMP continued the pressure with another goal by Racheal Hamelon off a free kick following a Great Bend foul.

The young Panthers drop to 2-5-1 on the season and remain at 1-3-1 in the WAC following the non conference loss Thursday.

Great Bend was scheduled to take on Manhattan in a non conference tilt on Friday at Cavanaugh Fields. Due to the threat of severe weather Friday the game has been moved to Monday, May 11.
