ST. JOHN GIRLS 60, CIMARRON 34

CIMARRON —  No. 7 state-ranked St. John girls roared past Cimarron 61-34 in Friday’s non-league basketball game.

The Tigers (7-1) featured Heidi Fisher (18), Lydia Reed (17), Gentri Bright (12) and Mia  Meyer (11) in double figures.

Cimarron (1-8) was paced by Morgan Eskam with 11 points.

SPEARVILLE 47, PAWNEE HEIGHTS 46 (OT)

ROZEL – The Pawnee Heights girls were one play away from upsetting Southern Plains-Iroquois leader Spearville. Spearville escaped with a 47-46 overtime victory on Faith Ackerman’s 3-pointer. Abby Hands and Joselyn Cordero-Valles each scored two points in overtime, but Ackerman’s fourth 3-pointer gave the Royal Lancers the victory.

The Tigers led 42-38, but Faith Ackerman sank a 3-pointer and Makiah Kliesen sank a free throw for a 42-42 tie after four quarters.

Olivia Hands scored 25 points and Cordero-Valles added 10 points for the Tigers (4-4, 1-3).

ROZEL — Pawnee Heights' Clayton Hammeke contributed 14 points and four steals in a 78-35 Southern Plains Iroquois basketball loss to Pawnee Heights Saturday. Davin Hamby scored eight points with three assists.

Spearville's Ian Melendez scored 24 points. The Royal Lancers converted 10 3-pointers to outscore the Tigers 30-9 on 3-pointers.
