SOUTH CENTRAL 38, ST. JOHN 29 — Coldwater South Central shut down St. John's transition game with a slow-paced game for a 38-29 semifinal victory in the 1A Spearville basketball substate.
St. John's Jace Reyes scored 10 points with a pair of 3-pointers. Emmett Delp scored nine points and opened with a slam dunk off a Reyes lob pass for an early 9-1 lead.
South Central's Jack Herd, Dakota Thronesbery and 6-7 Eli Girk each scored nine points. After South Central led 28-27, Girk blocked three shots and the Tigers committed three late turnovers. South Central closed with a 10-2 scoring burst in the final three minutes.
