PRATT — The St. John Tiger volleyball team dropped two matches after sweeping four pool play matches at Saturday’s Skyline Volleyball Tournament. Skyline downed the Tigers for third place 25-17, 17-25, 25-19 after Sterling dropped the Tigers 11-25, 25-23, 25-19 in the semifinals.

The Tigers won nine consecutive sets before losing four of their final five sets. After cruising through four pool play matches, the Tigers didn’t match that on-court intensity in the semifinals and third-place match.

“It was a tough finish, but there’s a ton of stuff we can learn and work on,” said St. John coach Trish Wade. “We’ve got to play better with a competitive edge.”
