World Series Champs The Kansas Heat 14 and Under softball team won the ASA Class C Heartland World Series July 27-31, in Olathe. The Heat went 7-2 in the tourney (3-1 in pool play; 4-1 in bracket play) and defeated G2 Heat from Newton, 9-4, to win the World Series title. On July 8-10, in Hays, they took 2nd place in the Kansas ASA Class C State Tournament. During the season they also won tournaments in Hillsboro and Hays; placed second in Great Bend and took third place in Salina. They finish their season with a record of 33-8. The team members include girls from: Hoisington Bailee Bachar, Taylor Boxberger, Trinity Dolezal, Bailey Sanders, Brooke Steinert and Jenna Urban; Larned Lynzi Myrick; Lyons Logan Griffitt; Sterling Elizabeth Horsch; Nickerson Skylar Eidson; Claflin Rylie Bailey. They were coached by Gary Boxberger and Kelly Urban.
