Advanced Therapy and Sports Medicine is Celebrating National Physical Therapy Month in October by organizing its second annual community food drive. The GIVE BACK Community Food Drive will run from Oct. 1-31.
For the second year in a row, all food collected will be donated to the Community Food Bank of Barton County, which is facing increased needs for food supplies.
“It was impressive how so many people stepped up and participated last year,” said Advanced Therapy and Sports Medicine co-owner Teresa Malone. “We enjoy conducting this drive because we feel it really is a community event where so many small contributions add up to make such a remarkable difference for those in need. Organizing the drive is also an opportunity for Advanced Therapy to give back to our community, which has been supportive of our business for the past 26 years.”
Participants don’t have to be patients to get involved, explained Malone. They can drop off non-perishable food items to Advanced Therapy, 3715 10th Street during the work week. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
People can also donate food items at Anytime Fitness, adjacent to Advanced Therapy in the Cottonwood Shopping Center on 10th Street. The two businesses are partnering to allow for convenient food drop-off times.
The GIVE BACK Community Food Drive is happening simultaneously during October in Larned and Hays at Advanced Therapy’s partner locations. Those in the Larned or Hays areas can drop off their food items at Progressive Therapy & Sports Medicine, Larned, or at Progressive Physical Therapy, Hays.
