Kristi Smith and Kami Schmidt of Great Bend have been promoted in the deposit and loan operations area at American State Bank and Trust Company in Great Bend. Smith will assume the lead position for deposit operations while Schmidt will assume the lead position for loan operations. They will be responsible for the day-to-day functions in each respective area.
Smith graduated from Great Bend High School in 1993 and attended the University of Kansas and Emporia State University, pursuing a degree in accounting. She’s been with American State Bank for 12 years. Past duties have included teller/new account representative, internet banking coordinator and marketing coordinator. Schmidt graduated from Great Bend High in 2008 and attended Fort Hays State University for two years. She began work with American State as a part-time teller while attending high school, and returned to the bank in the loan operations department after college. She’s been an American State employee for nearly 8 years.
