Bucklin Tractor Implement announced this week the launching of a scholarship program for local FFA students. BTI will be awarding six $1,000 scholarships to students around all six BTI locations: Pratt, Greensburg, Bucklin, Great Bend, Ness City and Hoxie.

To apply for the scholarship, students must be a senior FFA Member, plan to attend a two- or four-year program to pursue any area of agriculture and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. BTI will be looking for students who demonstrate leadership qualities, academic performance, and have a desire to further their education and career.

“I am very excited to provide this opportunity for high school seniors,” said Hannah Nichols, human resources director of employee relations and recruiting for BTI. “Being a recent college graduate, I realize how expensive tuition is. I greatly appreciated the scholarships I received as they helped lessen the financial burden. I am glad to work for a company that is willing to help students pursue their educational and career goals.”

To apply, students can go to www.btiequip.com and click on the “Careers” tab. Then fill out the application and upload a resume, a photo suitable for the newspaper to be used upon selection as an awardee, and an essay answering the essay question on the application. The deadline for applications is March 17 and the recipients will be announced in April.
