Business owners who want to extend their reach throughout central Kansas now have new advertising vehicles to consider.

The vehicles in this case are the Catch-A-Ride Public Transportation buses owned and operated by Sunflower Diversified Services. The buses travel five to seven days a week in Sunflower’s service area — Barton, Pawnee, Rice, Rush and Stafford counties.

They log approximately 300,000 miles per year.

"Businesses can share their messages with a vast number of people for a minimal cost per contact," said Sarah Krom, Sunflower’s community supports coordinator. "Our vehicles are highly visible and noticed all over central Kansas."

Advertisers are responsible for the signs’ design and production, and supply them to Sunflower with instructions on when they will be used. The signs remain the property of the advertiser and can be used in other venues.

"They can target certain audiences and share information about their businesses in general or their special events," Krom said. "This is a great way to reach a lot of people."

Sunflower is collaborating with Office Products Inc., which has offered special pricing on the signs, Krom said, noting the advertiser can choose any sign shop.
