CPI Barton County Endowment Fund supports Lasting Life Ministries, Inc. and United Way of Central Ka

CPI wanted to involve employees in giving and chose to manage its giving through a donor advised fund at the Golden Belt Community Foundation (GBCF). Corporate donor advised funds allow a company to make a charitable gift, establish a fund in the company’s name, and remain involved by recommending grants to charitable agencies or projects.
Each year CPI employees make grant recommendations to the GBCF Board of Directors regarding the charitable agencies or projects they wish to benefit. This year, the CPI Barton County Endowment awarded $5,494 in grants.
A grant was made to Lasting Life Ministries to support the Central Kansas Dream Center’s Christian based residential program for men and women overcoming life-controlling issues and their new Aging out of Foster Care program for young men and women between the ages of 18- and 21 years of age. The Dream Center’s environment creates a setting for spiritual and educational growth along with assistance for community integration.
CPI also supported the United Way of Central Kansas Born Learning Trail in Claflin. The trail is a community change strategy, helping boost children’s language and literacy skills and encourages families to get active. The trail will run through the Claflin grade school park. The projected completion date for the trail is June 2014.
Since the CPI Barton County Endowment Fund was established in 2009, the endowment has awarded $33,399 to charitable projects in Ellinwood, Great Bend, Hoisington, and Claflin. With each grant awarded, CPI will further its corporate philanthropy and community involvement. CPI hopes other firms in our community will take the initiative to establish a donor advised fund to help provide future funds for charitable giving.
With assets over $12.2 million, the Golden Belt Community Foundation has been assisting donors with their charitable giving goals and working with area non-profit agencies since 1996 in an effort to build better and stronger communities in Barton, Pawnee, Rush, and Stafford counties.
