Great Bend Desk and Derrick met on April 7 at Bentley and Assoc. Guest speaker was Dr. Scott Brantley, CEO of West Wind Energy, LLC. Brantley  shared the company’s success as a leader in the wind energy industry where they generate power with one of the great plain’s greatest free asset “The Wind”. The Great Bend club used the “Wind Energy” theme for their educational exhibit at the Spring Expo. Literature, flyers, brochures and handouts were available. All the kids received a colorful pinwheel which helped promote the message for a safe alternative; renewable and efficient energy source--the answer is blowin in the wind!
