The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassador’s Club were invited to a ribbon-cutting celebrating Essential Elements, 3108 10th St. in Great Bend, joining the Chamber of Commerce. Essential Elements owners Jan and Bryon Morton were also commemorating their fifth year in business. At the ribbon-cutting, Jan spoke on truly being a “mom and pop” shop, as well as the benefits of CBD.
Serving thousands since opening in November of 2016, they have had great luck with customers. Jan said that the shutdown through COVID-19 in 2020 was difficult but that their fellow “Great Benders” have supported their small business and, in turn, they are supporting their hometown. “I can guarantee that we small businesses appreciate them much more than the internet!” she said.
Before opening the store, Jan was an RN for several years. An injury to her back led to a dozen years of using the conventional medical route and it almost killed her. She was on the highest dosage of an opioid patch and oral meds, and they were not helping anymore. She was hospitalized several times from her body being destroyed by all the meds she had taken over the years.
Jan began taking CBD in 2014 and got off the meds with no withdrawal. She said, “Now, I’m 50 years old, raising our 9-year-old grandson, and I run my own business where I’m helping others feel better, too!” Between attending expos and the many samples she has received from potential suppliers, Jan has tried hundreds of CBD products, so she knows high-quality CBD and that is all they carry. Essential Elements also carries essential oils and diffusers; some nutritional supplements: Elderberry, Colloidal Silver, ear candles; crystal clusters, lamps, and stones; as well as funny socks, doormats and candles.
Essential Elements is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays; and by appointment. The business can be found on Facebook as Essential Elements Great Bend KS. Contact Essential Elements by email at Jan.essentialelements@gmail.com or by phone at 620-796-2259.
