Forensic symposium scheduled for October 7

HaysMed Education and The University of Kansas Medical Center Continuing Education and Professional Development and the Area Health Education Center – West, is sponsoring a Forensic Symposium 2015 on Oct. 7, at the HaysMed, Hadley Conference Rooms, 2220 Canterbury, Hays. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the program runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.Bethanie Popejoy, Special Agent KBI Child Victims Unit; Karen Wilson, RN, SANE-A, Wesley Medical Center University; and Jennifer Johnson, RN, BSN, MSN, APRN, AFN-BC, CFN SANE-A, SANE-P, FACT Program Coordinator, Shawnee Mission.Topics to be addressed include: drug endangered children; lethality risk in interpersonal violence, gunshot sounds; and testifying as an expert in intimate partner and sexual assault cases.Secure Digital Forensic Imaging (SDFI) will remotely demonstrate the Standard and Contrast Camera Systems. The standard camera allows for detailed forensic photodocumentation with high resolution, high definition, clear images.
