The Family Initiative, Inc. (TFI) has once again achieved national re-accreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA), a New York-based human services accrediting organization that uses stringent standards to evaluate agencies and improve service delivery outcomes.

The COA accreditation process involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administration, management, and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice. The standards driving accreditation ensure that services are well-coordinated, culturally competent, evidence-based, outcomes-oriented, and provided by a skilled and supported workforce.

Organizations pursue accreditation to demonstrate the implementation of best practice standards in the field of human services. Re-accreditation is a tremendous achievement that demonstrates TFI is recognized as a provider that continues to successfully implement high-performance standards and, as such, is delivering the highest quality services to all of its stakeholders.

“TFI was first accredited in 2000, and this most recent re-accreditation illustrates TFI’s extensive history providing quality child-centered care,” said Michael Patrick, TFI Chief Executive Officer. “I am extremely proud of our staff. Their steadfast dedication utilizing innovative services strengthens children and families every day.”

In Fiscal Year 2023, TFI served more than 6,227 children in prevention, foster care, adoption, and residential services. TFI is actively recruiting foster families to provide a loving, caring home to children in foster care. Foster parents are essential partners who help TFI deliver quality services and support for children and families. To learn more, visit www.tfifamily.org.
