Kelly’s Garden Sense opened a new greenhouse this Spring, located at 134 NE 10th Ave. Great Bend, and have created a space for not only growing local plants for seasonal planting but also hosting seasonal events. Kelly’s team held their first greenhouse event –D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) & Wine – on May 19, and has plans for three more events in 2023. 

“Our greenhouse events are designed for customers to experience and create their signature ‘pop’ of Color for themselves,” said owner Kelly Meier-Moeder. “No experience or expertise required. We guide you step-by-step so you can have fun and enjoy a drink or refreshment. Dancing will be optional at our event coming up in June.”

Upcoming events include: A Plant Bar to celebrate summer at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 16;  Kale & Ale in the Fall; and Cider & Pine around the Holiday. Each event will feature unique plants and refreshments. 

“We’re known for seasonal pottery and landscape design,” said Moeder. “With our new Greenhouse, we are able to welcome customers into our creative space to work alongside us. Everyone enjoyed getting their hands dirty at the first event and we can’t wait to welcome plant lovers back every season to unwind, have fun and create something beautiful in our greenhouse.” 

Moeder got her start in landscaping, with three pots of annual plants, and an eye for design. What started as a seed of inspiration has grown and bloomed into a team of seven at Kelly’s Garden Sense. Moeder is a certified landscape designer and has a passion for creating pottery and landscapes that are anything but ordinary. Her goal is to elevate the curb appeal of Great Bend and the surrounding area one landscape, business, one display at a time.
