Healthcare foundation to continue as partner of Childrens Miracle Network

William Newton Healthcare Foundation in Winfield has announced that as of Jan. 1 it will continue to serve 11 counties as a partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Via Christi Health in Wichita.
Under their new service area, William Newton Healthcare Foundation has added Barton, Stafford, and Pratt counties and will now serve the following Kansas counties: Barber, Barton, Cowley, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Harper, Kingman, Pratt, Stafford and Sumner.
To date in 2012, the Foundation coordinated 137 assists to families in 14 cities of south central Kansas who have requested funding through CMN. WNHF assistance thus far for 2012 totals nearly $18,000.
CMN Hospitals at Via Christi Health helps families and their children by providing assistance with expenses not covered by insurance, for things like medication, therapy, hearing aids, wheelchairs, or family travel expenses related to the child’s hospital stay.
Families can connect with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ resources through a network of five regional hospitals serving 64 counties. In addition to William Newton Healthcare Foundation, the regional hospitals are Ashland Health Center in Ashland, Via Christi Hospitals in Wichita, Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, and Hays Medical Center in Hays.
Since 1984, CMN Hospitals at Via Christi Health has provided more than $15 million in assistance to central and western Kansas children and their families.
