Sheri Yager joined Holste & Bowers LLC as a staff accountant in early November. Yager has extensive experience in accounting, having worked in the accounting department for the Fuller Brush Company for the past 23 years and last serving as the company’s accounting manager.
“After working so long in one job, I was looking for a professional change,” explained Yager about her recent job change. “Working for the public sector is a new challenge and I believe a perfect fit for me. Right now I’m doing bookkeeping and payroll and I’m learning the income tax side of the business. I think it’s very interesting and exciting to work with different clients and getting to know different people and businesses in this area.“
Yager graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2003. Prior to attending FHSU, she graduated from Barton Community College. She began her higher education trek at Brown Mackie College immediately following high school.
“Sheri has a great deal of accounting education and corporate experience that we think will give her a step up on learning income tax and the other things we do as a public accounting office,” said Holste & Bowers partner Barry Bowers. “Her personality is a good fit with our goal of providing great client service. She’s doing exceptional work for us, so far. We’re looking forward to introducing Sheri to our clients as she begins to assist Dave and me.”
Yager is originally from Holyrood, but has lived in Great Bend with her husband, Brian, for the past 20 years. The couple have three sons, Darion, Ty, and Keanu, and a daughter, Heaven.
