Hot slices of pizza will be served up at the next Sunflower Diversified Services “Hump Day” fundraiser for children and adults with developmental disabilities and delays.
The event is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Papa Murphy’s Pizza, 3809 10th.
The price of a one-topping, single slice of pizza, and choice of Coke, Diet Coke or water will be $3. An extra slice will add $2, while a large pizza is $16.
This applies only to carry-out orders.
“We invite the community to stop by for a take-out lunch and support their neighbors who need a helping hand,” said Connie Oetken, Sunflower director of development. “All proceeds during this special event will help provide services and adaptive equipment for the people Sunflower serves.”
For phone-in orders, call 620-639-1433.
Sunflower, a non-profit agency in its 48th year, serves infants, toddlers and adults in Barton, Pawnee, Rice, Rush and Stafford counties.
“Those who support people with disabilities can be assured all donations remain in our local communities,” Oetken noted. “While tax dollars provide many services, there are many, many gaps in financing. Those with disabilities must rely on private donations to fill those gaps.”
