The John Jaco Insurance & Financial Services will mark its 50th anniversary on Saturday, June 4.
The community is invited to a celebration from 10 a,m. to 4 p.m. on that day. Nationwide number 88 Dale Jr. show stock car and simulator will be at the office at 820 Main in Great Bend, along with prizes and giveaways. The grand prize will be tickets to a NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway.
John Jaco Insurance & Financial Services started in 1966 when John Jaco Sr. bought a partnership in an insurance and real estate agency. Jaco later bought out the partner, and established a very successful agency.
Along the way Jaco has served as president of Great Bend Board of Realtors, president of Barton County Association of Independent Insurance Agents, voted Realtor of the Year, and served as chairman on numerous community committees. He also served as director of crime stoppers and helped to bring them to the Barton County area.
In 1980 his son John Jr. joined the agency as a realtor and insurance agent to work along side his father. He later received his securities license and started offering financial services.
The staff includes: John Jaco Sr. president; J.W. Jaco executive vice president of operations; two full-time insurance agents, Barbara Wolford, secretary-treasurer and Ronda Krier producer; Sarah Schwartz, administrative assistant to J.W. Jaco; and Frank Koelsch, realtor associate.
The agency has a simple philosphy – The staff is there to help customes with all their insurance, financial and real estate needs.
